Ohio S.B. 324- GXMO Resources

Updated December 2025: S.B. 324 was introduced in Ohio to modernize the state’s X-ray staffing rules. The bill would:

  • Fix outdated supervision rules by allowing NPs and PAs to directly supervise GXMOs for x-rays (aligning the law with how Urgent Care centers actually operate).
  • Expand the GXMO workforce by recognizing the national ARRT limited-scope exam (opening the door for reciprocity and widening the talent pipeline in Ohio).

If you have centers operating in Ohio:

A coalition has formed and is making strong progress with legislators and stakeholders. If you’re interested in joining or staying closely involved, reach out to Kyle Miller (kmiller@pappaskc.com) to get connected.

Kyle and the coalition also provided the resources below to help in this fight.

  1. This is a step towards the right direction. The current archaic and obsolete rule in Ohio is preventing our urgent cares in the state from providing a better quality of care to our patients 7 days a week. Legislators should allow us to provide our patients with x-ray services 7 days a week instead of suffering through labor shortage.

  2. This is going on right direction.we hosted an event for Vivek on Nov 16 and I formatted letter to his office to forward for policy makers.I will be forwarding this information also to his office to forward for policy makers.
    Thank you
